Kalar Students Show Appreciation on World Teachers’ Day
Grade 5 and 6 students at Kalar International school, a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, celebrated World Teachers’ Day on October 5, 2016.
The SABIS Student Life Organization® prefects organized an event for the teachers and students during lunch break to thank the teachers for their dedication and selfless efforts. The teachers then thanked the prefects for their kind words and for organizing this day. Afterwards, everyone shared cake and the students offered teachers flowers and cards they had written for them.
The purpose of celebrating World Teachers’ Day was to show teachers respect and acknowledge their contribution of time and energy to the students. It is also a way to remind everyone how important teachers are to society and to the future. “The best thing I felt was the innocent yet true feelings shared by students on that day. I was a little surprised though, as a teacher, I felt so special as the whole audience made us the center of attention,” said a teacher.
