KALAR STUDENTS CLEAN UP THE COMMUNITY
The SABIS Student Life Organization’s (SLO®) Social Responsibility Department at Kalar International School, a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, held a cleaning campaign at the school on October 4, 2019.
The cleaning campaign involved all the prefects and was an effort to clean the school and school community. The students started with the school gardens and football yards, and even worked their way to the school surroundings. Once they collected all the trash, the students called the garbage collection company to take them away.
The purpose of this school clean-up campaign was to educate students on the negative impacts of littering on the environment. Another important lesson learned during this campaign was the power of working together and commitment to creating a better environment. “It was a great idea to make the children aware of the negative effects of pollution on the environment,” said a parent.
