Kalar Kurdish Flag Day

The SABIS Student Life Organization^®’s Activities Department at Kalar International School, a SABIS^® PPP school in Kurdistan, organized Flag Day for student in KG2 to Grade 6 on December 15, 2016.

Students were invited to wear Kurdish clothes on that day and recite poems about their nation’s flag. After school hours, students and staff celebrated by raising the flag and singing traditional Kurdish songs and dancing.

The purpose of the activity was to unite students in an event which honored their nation’s flag and to remind students about their heritage and history.  “This was an important activity that helped raise awareness on the symbolism of our flag,” said a student.
