Kalar Celebrates Kurdish Cloth Day
On March 8, 2018, students in KG 1 to Grade 7 in Kalar International School, a SABIS® PPP school in Kurdistan, celebrated the national Kurdish Cloth Day.
On this day, the school staff and student came to school wearing their traditional costumes. During their lunch break, they enjoyed the opportunity to dance together to traditional music, take photos, and celebrate their culture.
The purpose of this activity was show respect to Kurdish traditions and culture, and to keep them alive from one generation to the next. “It was a nice activity and special because I wore my Kurdish clothes,” said a student.
