Grade 3 Students at Kalar International School Go Swimming

Grade 3 students at Kalar International School, a SABIS® PPP school, went swimming after school on October 8, 2015.

Before heading into the swimming pool, the students were divided into groups of girls and boys. The girls group was supervised by four female teachers, while the boys group had five male teachers supervising them. The pool was divided into two parts, one side for girls and the other for boys.

Then, the students changed into their swimsuits. After the teachers explained the rules of the center, and gave the students safety advice to follow, students who did not know how to swim were taught. The Grade 3 students then played games in the swimming pool. Some of the students even went into the deep end of the pool and played games with the teachers. When the day’s activity came to an end, the students changed back into their clothes and they went home.

This day of swimming was held for numerous reasons, which included teaching the students how to swim and encouraging them to swim regularly in order to build body strength. Also, students learned to work individually and on a team. Students really enjoyed this activity and their parents were appreciative that the school held this event.
